Videoblogging Week 2006 #1–A Day Late and $896 Short!

April 4, 2006 | Filed under: videoblogging Week, misadventures

It’s Videoblogging Week 2006! It’s that inspirational time of year when all the good little boys and girls superglue their cameras to their hands, rack their brains and lose many hours of sleep in order to post One Video Per Day For One Whole Week! At the end of that week, the Fairy Vlogmother pays them a midnight visit and leaves gifts in their camera bags…sugarplums and miniDV cassettes and spare batteries! So I’m already a bad girl…I’m a day late. But you know what? I have a lot on my plate and little in my wallet. One day this week will get two videos to make up for the error of my ways…Please, please forgive me.

Ok… in an effort to support the overworked neonatal nurses of the country send me the bill and I’ll write a check.

    Peace

Ah! I always wanted a benefactor! So I’ve looked over the return and I noticed that my trusty accountant failed to file a 2106 itemizing my business expenses! DUH! This could be the answer to my problem! Although it’s always nice to get money back, and I have for years, I’d settle for breaking even at this point. I’m thinking that missing the business deductions was a major, major oversight…cross your fingers!

Isn’t vlogging an expense?! And you just reminded me - I’m late too! :)

“Trusty” accountant? And he charged you that much? And YOU found the mistake? Hmmmm… give me his name.. I have an acquaintance with the middle name of “Ice Pick” that I can refer him to…. ;)

    Peace

That video is FUNNY!!! I join you in chanting: “Anarchy. Down with government!!!” ;)

I can’t believe the guy charged you almost $300 and he *MISSED* the business expenses. Whatever!!! Time to get a new accountant.

Thanks for the comment! :) I am really starting to enjoy not only vlogging, but watching people’s vlogs too! :) And, I even took my camera outside today!

Sorry to hear about the tax situation! That sucks!

New equipment, uniforms, and school books (professional training)- my accountant took care of everything. I bought a hybrid car last year and got $2000 back from the Feds and $500 from the State. My CPA accountant got paid $150 and I’m getting $3000 back.

    Viva la Revolution!

I had an accountant like that once. For 2 years. Hubby and I were writing big checks. I fired him. Got a new accountant. April is a lot better now in our house.

Suggestion: get references on your accountant. And don’t hire relatives.

Maybe adopt a couple of kids and do some consulting work out of your home, too.

great video. and from a self-employed person who has owed large sums of money each year since 1999, i’m right there with you, “down with government!”

    Taxes are for suckers.
You shuold do what I do and just list your address as the IRS.
    Then they will bill themselves.
    Continuously.
    The debt gets bigger.
    Then your country collapses.

Then you just move up here.

    See?

    Awesome.

I’d do some vlogging, but I’d have to clean up this room because it’s really not ready for prime time. Perhaps I’ll go on the road and do a documentary or catch some cool storm footage this week.

I feel a rant about taxes, wages, and the cost of everything going up. I better go to work before I get miffed.

(Ironically, the code I had to type to post this message had “tax” imbedded in the middle of it. Coincidence?)
