Care packages rock. There’s nothing better than receiving an unexpected box in a plain brown wrapper…especially ifyou open it and find a whole mess of snacks! I have really cool friends.
A brief update: Brian’s hand is doing just fine. The man has mutant healing abilities. We’re pretty much done making our little apt. functionable. Hot water, fans, a/c, stove and fridge are all now in working order. The perimeter is more or less secure–or, at least, it’s as secure as it’s going to get for now. All spare entry points to the house have been closed off to anything larger than a cat, and the fence is very nearly finished. I feel a lot safer all around. Lonely and bored (Brian is out of town for a few days), but safer.

I think that it would be slightly odd to eat a lolipop with my friends on it. You’re right, mail is way better than e-mail. Slower mind you but better. I make a point to e-mail my cousins at college back and forth as well as e-mail them. It means so much more knowing that someone took the little bit of extra effort to print something out and go to the post office to send it.

I am so sending you some goods from a far! I often send moments/materials/madness via, my goodness snail mail…no, from Japan call it something else…it takes 10 days to 2 weeks…yes, loved the video…

First, I thought in writing like: “I want a friend like that!”. But then I thought, better if I’M THAT friend, right?

That was really sweet of your friends sending you a care package.

Man, I have to check in waaaay more often, there have been some major life changes here and I’m reading them backwards.
It’s like starting with “Frankly, Scarlett…..” and then reading Gone With the Wind in reverse!
